Gianni Brundu is a researcher about reproduction and breeding of invertebrate species, as the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus and the pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas, rearing of larvae and juveniles, induction of adults for reproduction. Reproduction induction of mugilidae Mugil cephalus, breeding of larvae and juveniles; farming of micro and macro algae species as food in aquaculture.

Research on plants and animal communities of lagoon and coastal marine environments. Implementation of research and monitoring projects (EU, National and Regional) with particular reference to the evaluation of the functioning of lagoon and coastal ecosystems. Collecting and processing of ecological data on priority habitat and species of conservation and commercial interest.

Transfer of skills and experience, training and tutoring of students.
