Simone Farina

Role: Coastal Ecosystems and Biodiversity Area Research Fellow

Simone Farina is a marine ecologist specialized in macrophyte ecosystem conservation. His research is currently focuses on the impact generated by the lack of sea urchins on ecosystems. In the framework of the “promotion of scientific research and technological innovation in Sardinia”, his studies provide the elements to carry out a management plan based on ecosystem approach for a sustainable sea urchin harvesting. Other research is carried out on the effects of climate change on macrophyte community interactions and structure.
